Description

Commscope DLX Mini-MST Fiber Optic Multiport Service Terminal, 4 port, locatable/toneable flat loose tube, 1000 ft

Features and specifications
  • Manufacturer: CommScope.
  • Part number: MST-04XX00-B1000U
  • Configuration: 4-port service terminal.
  • Connector technology: Utilizes miniature, factory-terminated, and environmentally sealed DLX connectors for reliable performance in harsh conditions.
  • Cable type: 1,000 feet of flat, loose tube cable.
  • Locatable/toneable: The cable contains metallic elements that can be detected using tone-generation equipment, which helps technicians find the cable’s location during installation and maintenance.
  • Mounting: Can be installed in aerial (strand), pedestal, handhole, or wall-mounted applications.
  • Application: Ideal for installations that require high connector density in a small footprint, such as in tight spaces or where aesthetics and concealment are important.
  • Installation: Plug-and-play technology allows for quick and easy connection of drop cables without requiring terminal re-entry.
Functionality
The multiport service terminal acts as a fiber distribution point in a telecommunications network. The main 1000-foot cable, which connects to a hub or splice point, feeds a number of individual customer connections.
  • Feeder cable: The 1000-foot flat loose tube cable is the feeder line that brings the fiber connection from the main network.
  • Terminal ports: The four hardened ports on the terminal provide the access points for individual drop cables that run to the end user’s location.
  • Plug-and-play: Field technicians can quickly connect a hardened drop cable by simply cleaning the connectors and plugging them into the terminal’s hardened adapter ports. This saves time and reduces the need for specialized splicing equipment in the field.
